Single Direction
Thrust Bearing
|
These bearings consist of one row of balls which rotate between
a housing washer and a shaft washer. The housing washer is the thrust
bearings equivalent of a radial bearings outer ring
and is seating in the housing. It has a ball pathway machined on
one of its sides (faces). The shaft washer is the equivalent of
a radial bearings inner ring and is seated against the shaft.
It also has a ball pathway machined on only one of its sides. As
the name implies, this bearing should be used to accommodate a thrust
load from one direction. NTNs designation for this type of
bearing is 51 in the first two positions
of a five (5) digit base bearing number.
